In physical body we represent the African culture, the Wampanoag Indians of Massachusetts
and the indigenous Carib Indians of the West Indies. However, in spirit we represent
all indigenous people of the world. We realize that our individual cultures and our
freedom of expression serves as a minute example of what could and should be seen
across the globe. OHKE Cultural Network (“OCN”) embraces diverse cultural expression
and provides an open platform for those who have stories to tell. Each story serves
the purpose of breaking down one more barrier built of misunderstanding and fear.
Removing fear allows us to purge feeling of hatred and aggression we direct towards
those of a different cultures. Whether your story is written on paper, spoken in
words or expressed through song, OCN is your open microphone to the world.
OCN family expresses their culture and invites others to renew and embrace their cultural traditions. Culture gives meaning to reality. It is the invisible medium that encompasses all human existence. Culture is
produced with each generation. Culture is more than a return to ROOTS. Cultures are the various routes by which people travel. Eventually, if a person travels far enough, the discovery will be made that the various cultures of the world are not all that different. However, lack of understanding leads to questions and those questions have been used to induce fear in the masses. OCN is here as a medium for Indigenous people around the planet to share their story and to help end cultural bias in the world. We may have Wampanoag, Carib and many other kinds of blood running through our veins but our vision doesn't tunnel to just one area. We join other light bearers of divine consciousness who adhere to the laws of the universe.
Every human being inherits a culture at the time birth. Spirituality is at the core of culture. The sovereignty of Indigenous Nations must be acknowledged in order to maintain the balance required for our existence on this earth.
As care takers of Mother Earth, we are vigilante to honor her and protect her against aggressive attacks.
